Elevate Code of Conduct

At Elevate, we believe that being respectful, welcoming, and mindful create for a better experience for every trail user. When riders attend Elevate, we expect them to follow our code of conduct:

During Elevate on June 6-8, 2025, I pledge to:

  1. Ride Responsibly: I will not ride in a manner that obstructs traffic and will ride single file when vehicles approach, never riding more than 2 abreast at any time.
  2. Prioritize Safety: I will wear a helmet at all times, and refrain from wearing earbuds.
  3. Obey Traffic Laws: I will obey all traffic laws, including stopping at all stop signs, respecting private property and homes, and being aware of other traffic such as cars, trucks, and buses, to ensure the safety of myself, fellow riders, and other road users.
  4. Respect Others and Environment: I will ride in a manner that prioritizes the safety of myself, fellow riders, and all individuals using the open roads or trails, showing respect and courtesy at all times. I will not congregate on the roads, only use public restrooms at designated locations, and avoid washing bikes in streams or rivers to protect the environment and preserve public spaces.
  5. Embrace Diversity and Inclusivity: I will embrace diversity and inclusivity, respecting individuals of all backgrounds, identities, and abilities. I will contribute to a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone feels valued and included. This includes:
    1. Treat everyone with respect and kindness.
    2. Refrain from discriminatory, harassing, or demeaning behavior or speech.
    3. Respect the boundaries and preferences of others.
    4. Report any concerning behavior to the Elevate Planning Committee immediately.
  6. Yielding and Safe Passing: Everyone should yield first and then figure out how to pass each other safely, maintaining a safe distance at all times.
  7. Ride with Gratitude Pledge:
    1. Respect This Gift: Riding trails on public or private lands is a gift, not a right. Let’s be grateful for the landowners and others who make our rides possible.
    2. Protect Nature: Enjoy nature without harming it. Stay on trails, avoid skidding and cutting corners, and pick up trash. Care for wildlife and minimize our impact.
    3. Care for Others: Share the trails with respect for others. Offer help and encouragement, yield when necessary, and be courteous to all trail users.
    4. Be the Example: Ride within our limits, park responsibly, keep noise levels low, and address reckless behavior politely.

By adhering to these guidelines, I contribute to a safe, enjoyable, and respectful experience for all participants during Elevate.
